No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 Warn the men. 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
