Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
