Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
