Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
