Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
