Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
