Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
