Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
