Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
