Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
