Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
