The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 these are the heirs 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
