Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
