Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
