The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has there come on man a while of time when he was a thing unremembered? 1 Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. 2 We have indeed shown him the way – whether he is grateful or ingrate. 3 Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire. 4 The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor 5 a fountain whereat drink the servants of God, making it to gush forth plenteously. 6 Those who fulfil their vows and fear the Day whose evil shall be diffused far and wide, 7 they give food, despite their love for it, to the poor and orphans and captives, 8 saying, "We feed you for the sake of God alone, we seek neither recompense nor thanks from you. 9 Lo! we fear from our Lord a day of frowning and of fate. 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that day, and gave them freshness and joy. 11 and recompensed them for their patience with a Garden, and silk; 12 Reclining therein on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). 13 And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility. 14 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal, 15 Glass made from silver, which the servers have filled up to the measure. 16 and they will be given a cup to drink flavoured with ginger, 17 A spring there, called Salsabil. 18 ۞ And there shall go round unto them youths ever-young. When thou seest them thou wouldst deem them pearls unstrung. 19 And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. 20 Upon them shall be green garments of silk and brocade; they are adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall give them to drink a pure draught. 21 (And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted." 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
