Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 storming tempestuously 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
