Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for an appointed term? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 the living and the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
