Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 and the severally severing 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
