Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 separating one from another, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
