Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 storming tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 separating one from another, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
