The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 Living therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
