The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
