The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
