The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 and made the night a covering, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
