The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
