The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
