The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
