The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
