The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
