The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 you pay attention 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
