The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
