The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and gathered his people together 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
