The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
