The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
