The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
