The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
