[O Men!] Are you more difficult to create than the heaven which He has built, 27 He raised high its height, then put it into a right good state. 28 Its night doth He endow with darkness, and its splendour doth He bring out (with light). 29 And the earth, He expanded it after that. 30 after that bringing forth from it its water and its pasture land, 31 And the mountains, He made them firm, 32 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 33 When the great calamity comes, 34 The day on which man shall recollect what he strove after, 35 And hell will be made visible to all those who can see. 36 then as for him who was insolent 37 And preferred the life of this world (by following his evil desires and lusts), 38 most surely his abode shall be Hell. 39 But unto him who shall have stood in fear of his Sustainer's Presence, and held back his inner self from base desires, 40 Their abode will be the Garden. 41 They ask thee of the Hour: when will it come to port? 42 What concern do you have to speak about that? 43 Its final end is for your Lord. 44 You are only a warner for those who fear such a day. 45 On the Day whereon they behold it, it will appear to them as though they had not tarried save an evening or the morn thereof. 46
