He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 when the blind came to him. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 exalted, purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 olives, dates, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
