He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 So you are after him! 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 you ignore him. 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle), 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 Mother and father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 and covered by darkness. 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
