He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 to a rich man, 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 and fears (Allah), 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 lofty and pure, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And grapes and herbage 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 but others will be gloomy 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
Almighty God's Truth.
