He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 Now he who waxes indifferent, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and fears (Allah), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 and olives and palms, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 And his mother and his father 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
