The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
