The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
