Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
