The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount; 1 And by oath of a passage, written – 2 On an open record. 3 by the established House (Mecca), 4 And the lofty roof. 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 The punishment of your Lord is certain to come. 7 There is none who could avert it. 8 On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking, 9 and the mountains quickly move. 10 Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;- 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is this magic or do you not see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 They would recline on couches set in rows, paired with fair companions (clean of thought and) bright of eye. 20 And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. 21 And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire. 22 They will exchange cups of wine free of (incitement to) pleasantry or sin. 23 ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. 24 And one of them turned towards the other, questioning. 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 But God has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of scorching wind. 27 before this, we used to pray to Him. Surely, He is the Beneficent, the Merciful." 28
