The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 that hide, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
