The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 The closing night, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
