The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
