The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
