Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 every soul will see the result of its deeds - those recorded before his death and those which will produce either virtue or evil after his death. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 Not at all but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 Illustrious scribes 11 who know all that you do: 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
